World Adds Hingham Specialty Agency; American Insurance Now a Division

World Insurance Associates announced September 28 that it acquired the business of American Insurance Agency of Hingham, Massachusetts, effective June 1, 2026. World now lists American Insurance as a division and gives its office address as 350 Lincoln Street, Suite 2400, in Hingham. Specialty clients therefore have a publicly listed local contact point under the agency’s new identity.

World describes American Insurance’s specialties as construction, manufacturing, hospitality, entertainment and amusement, special events, and skating and sports facilities. The division page lists commercial property, commercial auto, workers’ compensation and commercial umbrella insurance, as well as homeowners and personal auto coverage. It also provides a local telephone number and weekday office hours.

What World says the partnership can provide

For the Hingham practice, the larger brokerage’s potential value lies in the resources available beyond a single office. World says its partner agencies can draw on broader industry expertise and centralized HR, accounting, marketing and administrative support. Those are company-described capabilities, rather than reported changes to any particular client’s coverage.

In the deal announcement, James J. Farren, identified there as American Insurance’s owner, said he looked forward to expanding products and services for clients. World did not disclose transaction terms. The division listing establishes the agency’s current public identity and Hingham contact information; a wider product offering is the stated aim, not a documented client-level result of the deal.
