Athene Raises New York Five-Year MaxRate Credit Rate to 5.60% for Higher Premium Tier
Pending cases can receive the revised rate if the contract is dated September 25 or later. Athene ties that date to good-order status and receipt of all funds.
Athene raised the five-year guaranteed crediting rate on its New York MaxRate annuity from 5.25% to 5.60% in the higher initial-premium tier, effective September 25, 2026. Its New York rate notice says the revised rate also applies to pending business if the contract is dated on or after September 25.
For producers handling a pending application, the contract date is the deciding detail. Athene says the business must be in good order and all funds must have arrived. An earlier application submission does not, by itself, exclude a case from the new rate; Athene also says it cannot reissue contracts.
Two rates for the five-year term
The lower initial-premium tier rose from 5.05% to 5.30%. These figures are annuity crediting rates, not commissions paid to producers. Athene’s product description says the chosen-term guaranteed fixed rate applies to initial premium. Additional premiums receive a rate set annually, subject to a guaranteed minimum.
Who can present the revised offer
Athene requires product training before a producer sells one of its annuities. Its producer page also cautions that a producer’s organization may not offer every product shown there. For a producer with access to MaxRate NY, the useful next check on a pending case is whether its good-order status and receipt of funds establish a contract date under the September 25 schedule.
